Affected organisations confirmed on dark web following MOVEit data breach

Hacker group Clop has published the names of the organisations affected by the MoveIT data breach on the dark web. The Russian cybercriminals had threatened to do this if the companies involved in the hack did not contact them to begin ransom negotiations.

Our data protection experts are investigating the breach and will provide an update on this shortly. Here’s what we know so far:

  • On Wednesday, Clop began posting the names of affected firms to its website on the dark web
  • Organisations, including banks and universities have been added
  • Oil giant Shell is the latest company to confirm it has been affected by the hack
  • It is feared that Clop will share compromised personal data stolen from these companies if a ransom is not paid
  • Not all firms have had the same data exposed. However, in some cases, the compromised data includes bank details, National Insurance numbers and addresses
  • If you receive notification of your involvement in this breach you should register with us.

We are launching a no-win-no-fee group action claim to help victims of this data breach claim compensation.

To register your interest in joining this action, please register below and we will be in touch to invite you to join our claim.
